The extreme

A structural bottom is always the same house seen from the street: the lights out, the ruler on the ground. What the street cannot show is whether any room is still lit. At the close of the year of euphoria under a rate of 15, the Radar registered an entirely dark house — mood, appetite and structure went down together, with no room left to serve as an alibi. In numbers: the Perene Risk Index fell from 57.9 to 28.2, the Ânima from 72.0 to 52.3, and the intermarket — the house's most structural gauge — from 41.7 to 8.87, hard risk-off, scraping the floor. Selic at 15.0% a year, the dollar at R$ 5.45; the regime closed defensive, a score of 42.4.

What rhymes

Three years earlier, the same photograph — with one detail that belies it. In the darkened house, the intermarket touched the literal bottom of the ruler, from 39.79 to 0.17, the same hard risk-off. Except that one room was breathing: while the structure was collapsing, the internal risk axis climbed against the grain, from 25.9 to 37.3, back to neutral. Domestic mood was sinking — the investor's disposition, from 45.9 to 30.4 — but there was dissent inside the house. Selic at 13.75%, the dollar at R$ 5.24. From the outside, the same structural bottom; on the inside, one was breathing and the other was not.

What didn't happen

The concord of 2025 did not make it the deeper bottom. On the contrary: the intermarket at 8.87 stayed above the 0.17 of 2022 — the one that touched the literal floor was precisely the house that was still breathing. And the dissent of 2022 did not soften that bottom nor promise a turn: the month's own record closed by saying that configurations this depressed had been followed by resolutions quite different from one another, with no typical convergence. Neither was the unanimity of 2025 the graver one, nor was the lit room of 2022 a beginning.

Honest verdict

From the outside, every structural bottom is the same house in the dark. On the inside, it may agree with itself or contradict itself — and the archive keeps both. In 2022, one room was breathing against the rest; in 2025, none. The same dark, the opposite grammar. The photograph says where the market stopped. Where it walks afterward, the two houses keep the same silence.
